The owner was super attentive, helping with my luggage and offering homemade cookies at checkout. My room felt spacious, especially for Tokyo, and cleanliness was great. The amenities were sufficient for my needs. The air conditioning required constant running to maintain comfort, a slight downside. The neighborhood was bustling with dining options, very convenient for meals.

Location Okay by the ikebukuro station
Rooms have a terrible and strong smell of cigarette, I asked to change it but the second one was the same. Apparently all the rooms have this horrible smell of cigarette. Nothing to do....the owner is a old lady smoking a lot, and residents are all smokers. I precised that I was a non-smoker at my reservation online !!!

No matter how cheap, do not stay at this hotel.
When you walk in, you are greeted by the smell of dog piss.

Excellent service made each day feel like home.
I faced some inconvenience upon arrival with no one at reception to assist with luggage drop-off. Although I felt safe leaving my bags, it was an unexpected hassle. The small bathtub was a tad cramped for comfort, and there was noticeable road noise at night which might disturb light sleepers.

They dont respect the booking reservation, even if you have pre-paid they may give your room to another person. We booked 2 rooms and one was given to another person incredible!!! They only said "gomenasai, wakaranai"

The lady who ran the place was adorable!
Went to check under the bed to see if we left anything and there was tons of garbage under the bed. Toilet seat was falling apart.

The air conditioning was a drama, constantly needing to run, just to maintain some sort of comfort. A welcome gift or an upgrade would have been nice since it was almost unbearable lugging my bags up all those stairs. Almost gave a good review, but just couldn't, you know?

would like to go back there again
Really nice amenities like air conditioning, private bathroom, shower, and a fridge. The TV was flat-screen and worked great. Slippers were a nice touch. Soundproofing helped me sleep well. Best of all, I enjoyed the spa facilities. Plus, hand sanitizer and towels were always available. Super spacious and comfy for my solo trip.
